When to get a Phoenix travel agency
Phoenix travel company Phoenix Travel Agency says it’s moving to Phoenix after a long battle with the city over its zoning code.
The company, which was founded in 1998, has been in a legal battle with Phoenix for years, and is now relocating to downtown Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
Phoenix, which sits on the border of Arizona and Mexico, is known for its hip and trendy vibe.
The city has a population of almost 35 million, and more than 3,000 hotels, restaurants, and shopping areas dot the city.
But the city’s downtown area has been hit hard by the economic downturn and gentrification of the past decade, with the closure of some hotels and the demolition of entire businesses.
The Downtown Phoenix Partnership, a nonprofit that helps revitalize the area, recently announced plans to phase out some of the hotels in the area and put up more restaurants in the surrounding area.
But Phoenix’s zoning code allows the company to use a “general use” area for its offices and retail businesses.
A general use area is defined as areas that have no more than 25% residential use, according the company.
Phoenix is one of many cities that have been in legal limbo over the past few years over zoning.
Some cities, including Dallas and Charlotte, have allowed companies to use their general use zones.
Others, like San Francisco and Atlanta, have banned the use of general use areas.
Phoenix and the Downtown Partnership have not been able to reach a deal on the zoning code since last fall.
It was supposed to be up to the city to decide on the code’s future, but the city was unwilling to compromise and allow Phoenix to move.
“The City of Phoenix is moving forward with its plan to phaseout all residential use of the City’s General Use Zones and allow the use by Phoenix Travel Agencies of all offices, retail, hotels, and other residential uses in the City of downtown Phoenix,” Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton wrote in a letter to the Downtown Phoenix Business Association.
The Downtown Partnership said it will work with the City to ensure all residents are able to enjoy the city without being subject to restrictions.
